Description

The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenured Professor or advanced Associate Professor, to begin in the fall of academic year 2024-25. The position is intended for candidates with an interest in promoting the study of Texas and Southwest borderlands history and a demonstrated ability to communicate academically rigorous historical findings to the public. Qualified applicants will be considered for appointment as holder of an endowed professorship.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in History, and demonstrate expertise in the history of Texas or the Southwest, a record of peer-reviewed research commensurate with rank, and a strong record of teaching at an accredited university. Preferred qualifications include a distinguished record of scholarship, contributions to public scholarship, and promotion of scholarship in and the study of Texas history.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
