Enrollment Coach - Digital Learning at UT

(Multiple Positions)

Digital Learning at UT is hiring enrollment Coaches (EC’s) who will counsel prospective students seeking online program options at UTK and serve as a champion for their interests in areas of study. As a student’s primary point of contact in their journey to become a fully online student, the EC provides a high-level of personalized support and acts as a concierge to students, from their initial expressed interest to the beginning of classes. Enrollment Coaches build and foster relationships with learners, educating them on best fit options at UTK.

This position has the possibility of working remotely.


Qualifications :

Job Functions:
  • Conduct outreach with prospective students to gauge eligibility and interest for Vols Online programs, build and manage active pipeline of leads, communicate with prospective students via call and text campaigns, emails and other forms of communication and utilize database tools to track interactions and the progress of all assigned leads.
  • Develop, execute, and implement recruitment outreach plan for all stages of the enrollment funnel, considering individual student needs and preferences.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned prospective students from first inquiry through the start of classes. Provide swift responses to inquiries, maintain professional written and verbal communication, and engage in strategic outreach at each stage of a student’s progression through the enrollment funnel.
  • Advise prospective students on the best program fit using a consultative approach combined with thorough knowledge of all online degree requirements, admissions policies, and procedures for current and proposed programs.
  • Advise prospective students on how credits will transfer using transfer course equivalencies and articulations.
  • Determine any real or perceived barriers to entry for prospective students and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Educate students about curriculum, progression and admission requirements and supplemental programs and opportunities.
  • Use resources and critical thinking skills to problem solve, quickly make decisions, and provide the best, most accurate information, and direction to prospective students, at the right time and through the contact method they prefer.
  • Ensure adherence to all university, college policies, student privacy/confidentiality and FERPA law.
  • Serve as liaison to an assigned academic and/or administrative unit to facilitate integrated recruitment and admission functions and resolve issues of competing priorities.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with constituents within assigned academic or administrative unit to ensure that Digital Learning at UT possesses an awareness of needs and provides optimal service in fulfilling those needs.
  • Monitor progress toward recruitment, admission, or yield targets for assigned academic programs or populations, and propose action or adjustments as needed.
  • Assist in the development, editing and distribution of recruitment materials including student communications, programmatic advisement resources, guides, etc.
  • Participate in recruitment activities including information sessions, webinars, and other events
  • Engage with student success and academic advising staff to ensure smooth student hand-off at beginning of classes; partner with OneStop to ensure students understand their unique financial aid and packaging status.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including email
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to pull, analyze, and make decisions based on various report data
  • Knowledge of general admissions processes at a college or university, including transfer credits and processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication.

  • Competent to perform NACADA core competencies.
  • Evidence of team building skills that foster collaboration and ability to interact with a broad base of individuals (administration,faculty, staff, clinical partners, students, etc.) who interact with the Office of Student Services.
  • Computer literacy and strong skills with digital literacy tools.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, programs, skills, and other information.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in a university setting working in admissions or recruitment, preferably for online programs.
  • Knowledge of advising principles and best practices for recruiting.
  • Education/Experience with Salesforce
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least one year of experience, which may be attributed to a combination of related paid employment, related student employment, relevant internships, and, in some cases, relevant experiential learning with appropriate documentation.
  • Knowledge of academic advising and student learning/ development theories applied to practice.
  • Experience working with students in a college or university setting.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master’s Degree.
  • 2+ years of related experience advising, recruiting or student success related career field in a higher education setting.
