Program Administrator



The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking a qualified Program Administrator. Recently ranked 2nd by US News & World Report for our Nurse Anesthesia DNP program, 5th for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner DNP program, and 10th Best Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, the School of Nursing continues to be one of the most reputable and well-known nursing education schools in the country for both undergraduate and graduate level programs.

The Program Administrator will support the MSN (Masters of Science in Nursing) and DNP Program Coordinators, Acute & Tertiary Care (ATC) Tenure and Tenure Stream faculty and provide clerical assistance to research staff when necessary. The position acts as liaison between Program Coordinators, graduate students, and other staff and faculty within the school. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point.


Job Summary

Supports senior level roles in a wide variety of complex administrative and office functions as well as specialized technical support for academic or administrative departments.


Essential Functions

The essential functions for this position include:

- Maintaining graduate student files for MSN and DNP programs
- Coordinating and managing events and meetings for Program Coordinators (including preparing budgets, investigating costs and providing estimates, and polling attendees)
- Organizing information and generating reports for Program Coordinators
- Organizing mock grant reviews for the Vice Chair of Research
- Planning and coordinating travel for faculty, students, and faculty candidates as needed
- Serving as back up to the Department Coordinator as needed
- Providing administrative assistance to the Chair, Vice Chairs, Department Coordinator, and all other departmental faculty
- Coordinating with other departments across the school
- Receiving visitors and packages as needed


Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
