Head Women's Basketball Coach



The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Department of Athletics is a proud member of the NCAA Division III level. The Department of Athletics consists of 13 varsity athletic men’s and women’s teams that compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).

The Head Coach is responsible (in conjunction with the Director of Athletics) for planning, programming, directing, supervising, and implementing the duties and functions of the women’s basketball program. The head coach must work closely with all others involved in carrying out the philosophy and objective of the intercollegiate athletic program. The Head Coach will also serve in an administrative duty within the Department of Athletics. The Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics.

Job Summary

Oversees all aspects of a sports program. Recruits athletes, mentors athletes, fosters athletic, emotional, and academic group of student athletes. Oversees sports equipment, practice plans and schedules, skill development, designs coaching strategies. Oversees public and media relations. Coordinates team travel and schedule. Adheres to all rules and regulations. Oversees assistant coaching staff.


Essential Functions

The Head Women's Basketball Coach, in conjunction with the Pitt Greensburg Director of Athletics, is responsible for:

  • Planning, programming, directing, supervising, and implementing the duties and functions of the women’s basketball program;
  • Directly coaching and conditioning players;
  • Recruiting and scouting of prospective players;
  • Executing practices, practice schedules, facility availability;
  • Requisitioning new and maintaining existing equipment;
  • Monitoring academic and disciplinary standing of student athletes;
  • Organizing and confirming travel to away events/matches;
  • Fundraising for the women's basketball programs which may include coordination and oversight of camps;
  • Coordinating and completing administrative functions to ensure the University will have a comprehensive and cohesive program for athletes and non-competing athletes.

The Head Coach reports to the Pitt Greensburg Director of Athletics. The Head Coach will supervise an Assistant Coach.


Physical Effort

The position requires a considerable amount of non-traditional work hours due to practice schedules, games and away travel. Physical exertion is required at various times. The position will require walking to on-campus events and meetings.

Hiring Range: Minimum starting salary of $35,000/year
