Position Description
Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.

Major/Essential Functions
Applicant shall be a licensed physical therapist with a terminal doctoral degree (Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science, or similar) and at least 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy; prior entry-level DPT teaching experience is required. Responsibilities include coordination of DPT courses, including but not limited to HPPT 8231 Diagnostic Imaging (Fall) and assistance with HPPT 8203 Functional Anatomy (Summer) via guest lectures and lab teaching. Coordination responsibilities will include organizing and presenting course content to DPT students via lecture and on-site lab (if applicable), developing, maintaining, and grading course assignments and assessments, advising students regarding course content, and communicating with and coordinating lab teaching assistants (if applicable). Anticipated teaching schedules are as follows: Summer – Monday, 1:00-3:00 (lecture); Wednesday and/or Thursday, 1:00-5:00 (lab); Fall – Monday, 2:00-4:00 (lecture).
