Job Summary:

The Director of Prospect Management will coordinate portfolio optimization and solicitation strategies, measure gift officer progress toward annual goals, help maintain data accuracy and integrity, and provide ongoing prospect management and tracking for major and principal gifts. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Prospect Development, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining a prospect pipeline and the analysis of movement of prospects through the full donor cycle. The Director will collaborate with University Advancement leadership and gift officers across schools/units/initiatives to provide strategic recommendations regarding cultivation and solicitation of TCU donors.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Builds and maintains partnerships with development officers and University Advancement leadership to effectively manage prospect assignments.
2. Provides insight for prospect strategy through ongoing portfolio and pipeline analysis.
3. Supports the growth of high capacity portfolios and major and principal gift prospect tracking.
4. Proactively recommends processes to ensure the best prospects are actively managed.
5. In partnership with the Advancement Operations team, produces regular prospect management reports and dashboards that track the quality of prospect pools, portfolios, and metrics to aid in decision making across the division.
6. Works closely with the prospect research team to maximize the success of fundraising activities and goals.
7. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.
8. Adheres to ethical and confidentiality guidelines of both TCU and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
9. Educates University Advancement staff about current research practices and trends.
10. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 4 years' prospect development/ prospect management/advancement research or related experience in higher education or non-profit development role.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Master's degree
• Experience with relational CRM databases. Experience with Blackbaud products a plus.
• Experience with financial and/or statistical analysis and understanding of financial sectors and fundraising trends.
• Experience in writing logical and detailed reports with a high degree of accuracy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of academic fundraising processes.
• Knowledge of fundraising prospect management techniques and methodology.
• Knowledge of relational CRM databases, data visualization software, and Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).
• Knowledge of wealth indicators.
• Knowledge of online research methods, along with database maintenance and retrieval.
• Skill in analytical and organizational techniques.
• Skill in strong organizational, professional and interpersonal techniques.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial disclosures for the purpose of wealth assessment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to think critically and identify solutions.
• Ability to lead and exercise sound judgment, particularly in working with sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to learn navigation and data entry in a large, complex database (Blackbaud CRM).
• Ability to initiate and collaborate on projects.
