Job Summary:

The Admissions Support Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the Office of Admission and Outreach at the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU by coordinating activities, supporting programs, and facilitating department objectives. This is a part time temporary position from late Spring of 2024 through the Spring of 2025. Hours may fluctuate from 20-30 hours per week, dependent upon business needs.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Assists with the processing of applications through the AMP system and sending secondary applications based on specific application criteria.
2. Assists with planning and execution of the TAAHP conference, scheduled for spring 2025.
3. Assists with other event planning as needed, such as Second Look Weekend, applicant visit days, pathway programs, and applicant information sessions.
4. Assists with day-to-day operations of the admissions office, such as communicating with applicants via email and phone.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of basic office experience.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Event planning experience
• Admissions experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Skill in interpersonal, problem-solving and organization.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communications.
• Skill in writing and proofreading; strong office management skills.
• Ability to be flexible and the ability to work with a broad range of constituents.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and complex calendaring. Proficiency using Zoom or other online meeting software.
• Ability to be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize work effectively, handle multiple projects at any given time, and work well independently.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:

• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
• Meeting and event support is required and may occur outside of regular business hours.
• Traveling between multiple work sites may be necessary.
• This role is an in-person and on campus position.
