Job Summary

The Title IX Case Manager reports to the Deputy Title IX Coordinator. The incumbent manages the intake of reported Title IX-related complaints by providing initial outreach and response. This position is responsible for data collection, input, and analysis of files in the Maxient case management system and works in concert with Title IX leadership, internal and external stakeholders to provide supportive measures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Provides confidential initial assessments to students and employees regarding alleged Title IX violations, including but not limited to sexual violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating and domestic violence, stalking, pregnancy and parenting, sex, and gender-based harassment and discrimination, and LGBTQI harassment and discrimination
  • Conducts trauma-informed intake interviews with reporting parties to assess immediate safety and well-being, gather facts, and provide applicable Title IX required information.
  • Provides applicable supportive measures
  • Manages the life cycle of a complaint/incident report from intake to completion, ensuring all case activity is accurately documented and remains current in the institution's case management system
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, i.e., Director of Student Conduct and Prevention Education, CARE Advocacy Team, Law Enforcement, Early College leaders, and other critical stakeholders in providing and facilitating supportive services to parties
  • Ensures the application of applicable regulations, i.e., VAWA, Clery Act, and Title IX
  • Organizes assigned work in a manner that supports the accurate and timely completion, tracking, and reporting of complaints
Service Excellence
  • Provides excellent customer service and outreach to students and employees regarding assigned program while cultivating strong rapport with students, employees, internal and external stakeholders
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision

Works under the general supervision of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator

*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience related to the essential performance requirements
  • One (1) year of work experience related to the essential performance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Education, Human Resources, Educational Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
  • Master's degree
  • Title IX Coordinator or investigator certification
  • Experience in a higher education setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)
  • Knowledge of sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, intimate partner violence, stalking, and sex and gender-based harassment prevention strategies
  • Knowledge of VAWA, Title IX, and other federal and state laws related to dating and domestic violence, and stalking
  • Knowledge and cultural competence on diversity, social justice, unconscious bias, consent, and bystander intervention
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication to effectively communicate complex issues
  • Ability to exercise tact, mature judgment, confidentiality, diplomacy, and flexibility in interacting with all levels off faculty, students, staff and management, guests, vendors, and the public using discretion on all interactions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, state and federal laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to recognize issues of sensitive nature and respect confidentiality
  • Ability to make judgments based on information versus assumptions
  • Ability to respond well and maintain a balance of objectivity and empathy for individuals experiencing stressful and crisis situations
  • Ability to demonstrate case management skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other programs such as Maxient, to organize workAbility to work under pressure with multiple interruptions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented collaborative team environment

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
