Position Summary
Clinical Coordinator - Department of Nursing
College of Education, Health and Human Studies
Full time; 10-month assignment
Position Responsibilities
- Report to department chairperson to identify competing priorities and resource needs
- Cooperate with department administrative assistant to oversee management of CastleBranch student information and data management for all programs in the department
- Maintain regular communication with local health agencies which serve as clinical education sites
- Serve as the contact person for clinical agencies in the recruitment of externs and graduate nurses
- Serve as liaison between faculty and clinical agencies
- Assist program directors in the recruitment of preceptors and clinical instructors
- Develop a preceptor training program in conjunction with department faculty
- Ensure the consistency of clinical direct patient care and simulation clinical experiences between clinical sections
- Assist Simulation Laboratory Coordinator
- Identify maintenance and supply needs for simulation, skills, and assessment labs
- Assist in inventory management, set up, and post-simulation activities
- Work with department staff manage Clinical Agreements with agencies
- Work with nursing faculty to develop clinical schedules for each semester
- Address student issues which arise throughout the clinical experiences
- Work with the Student Affairs Committee on admissions and student contracts
- Serve as a member of the Graduation and Pinning Ceremony Committee
- Maintain the Canvas page on the Nurses Station to keep students informed of pre- and post-graduation opportunities
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Current, active Missouri RN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure
- Minimum one year of clinical experience as an RN
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience in nursing leadership and/or nursing education
