Position Summary


Clinical Coordinator - Department of Nursing

College of Education, Health and Human Studies

Full time; 10-month assignment

Position Responsibilities
  • Report to department chairperson to identify competing priorities and resource needs
  • Cooperate with department administrative assistant to oversee management of CastleBranch student information and data management for all programs in the department
  • Maintain regular communication with local health agencies which serve as clinical education sites
  • Serve as the contact person for clinical agencies in the recruitment of externs and graduate nurses
  • Serve as liaison between faculty and clinical agencies
  • Assist program directors in the recruitment of preceptors and clinical instructors
  • Develop a preceptor training program in conjunction with department faculty
  • Ensure the consistency of clinical direct patient care and simulation clinical experiences between clinical sections
  • Assist Simulation Laboratory Coordinator
    1. Identify maintenance and supply needs for simulation, skills, and assessment labs
    2. Assist in inventory management, set up, and post-simulation activities
  • Work with department staff manage Clinical Agreements with agencies
  • Work with nursing faculty to develop clinical schedules for each semester
  • Address student issues which arise throughout the clinical experiences
  • Work with the Student Affairs Committee on admissions and student contracts
  • Serve as a member of the Graduation and Pinning Ceremony Committee
  • Maintain the Canvas page on the Nurses Station to keep students informed of pre- and post-graduation opportunities


Required Qualifications


  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Current, active Missouri RN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience as an RN
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in nursing leadership and/or nursing education
