Full Time: Hybrid/remote work opportunities available for this position (Must reside in MO, IA, AR, KS, KY, TN, IL, or FL)

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepares and maintains the budget documents for the University and affiliated auxiliaries
  • Maintains and monitors position control systems for all University and auxiliary personnel
  • Supports regular financial planning and analysis for unit/department level activities as well as at college, divisional, and campus levels
  • Computes and analyzes additional employee costs and savings due to voluntary leave without pay, overtime and/or part time employment, FICA savings due to pre-tax benefits, supplement costs for additional medical coverage, etc
  • Prepares financial data for the annual state budget request utilizing the Banner Finance System, University's data warehouse, Access database, and Excel
  • Completes ad hoc projects and reports as requested


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field; Degree in business management is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public sector, non-profit, and/or government-related entity; Experience in higher education is a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting concepts
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgeting concepts
  • Experience with data management systems
  • Evidence of experience creating and modifying complicated Access queries and reports
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System; Ellucian Banner ERP experience is a plus
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
