Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of IT Support Training Associate.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to be a technical support and training representative through research and direct-support of deployed hardware, software, operating systems, computing devices, printing services, and other device connectivity. This position will create and maintain the department knowledge base for utilization by all support personnel. Incumbent will act as assistant coordinator for all departmental training and support workshops in conjunction with partnering colleagues

Authority and Accountability

This position will report to Kevin Malone (IT Helpdesk Manager) and will have no supervisory or budgetary authority or responsibility. 

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associates degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Work Experience: Two years of fulltime PC support experience maintaining desktop computer hardware and software systems in an enterprise environment. One year of fulltime, professional experience providing Help Desk technical OR customer service support to computers users. Experience in a college/university environment is desirable.

List any required technical skills (computer skills, etc.): Ability to troubleshoot, install or replace computer equipment; including: hard drives, memory, network cards, video cards, monitors, and printers. Ability to use software to develop training materials, including written and video support. Ability to test network cables and connections; to troubleshoot/test, download, install, and update computer software; to interpret and explain the use of new computer hardware and software to users; to analytically design program logic or solve technical problems. 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General knowledge of two applicable software products; of applicable computers and peripherals. Skill in configuring computer hardware and software; to analytically design program logic or solve technical problems; in operating supported computers and peripherals. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to work effectively with clients. Ability to use software to develop training materials, including written and video support; to test network cables and connections; to troubleshoot/test, download, install, and update computer software; to interpret and explain the use of new computer hardware and software to users; to analytically design program logic or solve technical problems.
