Essential Job Functions
  • Guides and supports students and other library patrons regarding best practices for information discovery, retrieval and use
  • Schedules, customizes and provides classroom instruction on information literacy both face to face and online
  • Develops print and online guides and video tutorials on information literacy skills and optimal use of library resources and services
  • Serves as collection development specialist and faculty liaison for assigned subject areas within the JWU curriculum and in preparation for new curriculum offerings
  • Provides reference and publishing support for individual faculty scholarship and research projects
  • Assists in planning and maintaining the organization of library resources
  • Participates in, and presents at, professional conferences, and collaborates with other library professionals to coordinate local and regional reference services and information literacy instruction and assessment initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a master's degree
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in library and information science or a related field of study
  • Experience providing reference and instruction in an academic environment
  • Experience supporting open access initiatives and creation of open educational resources
