The Gainesville Sun is seeking a talented, energetic journalist to join its news team and cover criminal justice and local government. This reporter will be responsible for following the biggest stories in the Alachua County area, with an emphasis on Gainesville. The job entails being a watchdog who isn’t afraid to ask tough questions, filing record requests, searching court records and working closely with the local news editor and other reporters on a range of topics to continue the Sun’s award-winning coverage of local government entities.
Gainesville is in the heart of the springs country of north central Florida, close to both coasts, along with major urban hubs including Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa.
