Job Description

This part-time nurse position (less than 50%) will support school districts in ESC Region 12 districts enrolled in the Personnel on Demand program providing nursing services, including but not limited to the items listed below. The salary shown depends on the percentage worked. The position is a traveling nurse who supports several small rural districts in Bosque and Hamilton counties.

  • Maintain immunization records, health findings, and other relevant health data.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and work standards for the school health program.
  • Monitor compliance of school health programs with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Serve as a resource person for administration on health issues
  • Provide staff development for school personnel on health-related issues
  • Screen and conduct student health appraisals
  • Corresponds with parents on student health issues
  • Maintains school health supplies
  • Provides first aid care as needed
  • Initiates changes as needed

Education/Certifications

  • Valid Texas Nursing certification
  • Three years of relevant experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing NURSING services at the district/campus level preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions
  • Technology application skills
  • Strong organization, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude, self-starter, team player
  • Ability to initiate and complete projects
  • Ability to implement QMS initiatives.
