Join the Baker College team as an Automotive Instructor and fuel the future of automotive expertise! As a key player in our educational mission, you'll bring your passion and hands-on experience to the forefront, guiding students towards success in the automotive industry.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
  • Teach in areas of expertise and/or ASE Certification specialties
  • Provide leadership and lead instruction for assigned specialty course(s)
  • Offer lecture and laboratory instruction each semester
  • Assist in curriculum planning, textbook recommendations, assessment, and evaluation
  • Contribute to the hiring of adjunct faculty and provide orientation and mentoring
  • Participate in professional development to stay current in automotive and diesel educational methodologies
  • Maintain high standards of professional conduct and ethics
  • Perform administrative duties supporting the dean and program director as needed
  • Believe in and support the Student First Philosophy
  • Contribute to the overall success of Baker College
  • Act as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent (or commitment to completing it through Baker College upon hire)
  • ASE Certifications in Automobile Service
  • 3 years as an auto/diesel instructor or 5 years of work experience in a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Canvas LMS
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical materials
