Job Description Summary:
To provide technical support, coordination, and management of multimedia events hosted by the college. Provide support services for the daily use of technologies in specialized classrooms, multipurpose event spaces, conference rooms, and teaching labs to ensure an adaptive, flexible, and rich learning environment for the students. Collaborates with Austin Community College (ACC) departments in the integration of digital media technologies - audio support, video recording, video conferencing services - for institutional events and hybrid staff communication.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provides technical support of large multimedia events that require PA system, video projection, and video streaming.
  • Provides technical support, maintenance, and repair of all ACC multimedia technology infrastructure.
  • Provides technical support of instructional technologies in the classroom including hardware and software applications.
  • Provides technical support of ACC technology resources for use by faculty, students, internal departments, and external organizations.
  • Tracks service requests, IT tickets, and room usage.
  • Manages inventory of departmental assets.
  • Assists with creation of digital assets for multimedia events.
  • Oversees workflow of hourly employees and departmental interns.
  • Participates in regular staff meetings, staff training programs, and accepts the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships.


Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Current principles and practices of audio and video production techniques, livestreaming, multimedia event production, and applications in an educational environment.
  • Audio and Video production software and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with working in an academic environment.
  • Cultural and equity competency.


Skills
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Maintaining an established work schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to develop processes to improve workflow.
  • Skill in troubleshooting multimedia technology including amplifiers, control systems, and display systems.
  • Proficient use of digital video, audio, and image editing software.
  • Proficient use of archival video database systems and conferencing technologies.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and multi-task effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external ACC organizations.


Technology Skills
  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
  • Proficient with graphics applications, professional audio editing, and video editing software and other multimedia software application packages.


Required Work Experience
  • Two years related work experience.


Preferred Work Experience
  • Work experience in a higher educational institution.


Required Education
  • Associate degree.


Preferred Education
  • Degree in Information Technology, Mass Communications, or related field.


Special Requirements
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for local Austin area travel.


Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a variety of settings.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling, and at times subject to stooping, crawling, and climbing.
  • May need to lift heavy objects of up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to focus.


Safety

Salary Range

$46,162 - $57,702
