Job Summary and Description
Develops and implements district-wide student financial aid strategy to maximize the impact on student success from the Alamo Colleges District’s (ACD) Student Financial Aid department. Through collaboration with Administration and College senior leadership, drives operational excellence and maximized student value in all Student Financial Aid programs while assuring comprehensive compliance with relevant federal and state regulations as well as college district policies and procedures. Program oversight includes scholarship, grant-in-aid, federal work-study, student loan programs and all financial assistance programs to students.

Leads innovative programs to address unique financial planning challenges facing the learners at ACD. Improves student financial wellness, persistence and completion utilizing financial planning education, concepts, and tools.

Implements and manages a transformational scholarship program for students in financial crises resulting in improved persistence and completion.

Reports to the Vice Chancellor for Student Success

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Ten years leading a large student financial aid program for a higher education institution and related support services programs.
  • Ten years of experience leading large, complex educational programs at a higher education institution.
  • Significant experience with developing and maintaining processes and financial controls for a complex higher education function.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing on high impact strategic initiatives for continuous improvements and transformational change.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license. Must be insurable through the organization’s insurers.
