The Advocacy and Resource Center seeks an experienced and dynamic not-for-profit Program Director with demonstrated ability to cultivate and build on responsive service strategies, collaborative business relationships and effective business systems to develop a fiscally vibrant department that extends and sustains our mission in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field. Position requires a hands-on working style, with the oversight of 250+ employees, with 130 people supported. Clinton County, NY is located on the shores of Lake Champlain, north of the Adirondack Park and borders both Burlington, Vermont and Quebec. Outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers and those with family will truly flourish in this region.
Under the direct supervision of the Executive/Associate Executive Directors, the Habilitative Operations Director is responsible for all aspects of the department. This includes but is not limited to:
- Program development and operations
- Fiscal management
- Community and family relations
- Human resource management
- Responsible for implementation of regulations in conformance with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and in accordance with applicable sections of the Mental Hygiene Law.
Minimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Human Services or business-related field and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible management experience, including: finance, human resources, organization management and previous OPWDD experience preferred, or
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years’ experience as explained above.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that will include evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel within county and state. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office and have the ability to use Agency software and databases. Must have exemplary organizational, communication and supervisory skills.
Salary negotiable based on experience, $100,000+. Excellent benefits package. The Advocacy and Resource Center qualifies as a public service loan forgiveness employer.
